Complaint offices
Complaints to the Student Council
- Use the anonymous contact form at the bottom of this page.
- On the Moodle page of the student council you will find: "Anonymous messages to the council / anonymous complaints feedback". As the name suggests, this is an anonymous complaint.
- You can also register publicly on Moodle here: "Forum for all discussion needs".
- Send an email to the student council or, if it's a rather delicate matter, use email to the head of student council.
Complaints to the department
- Please submit anonymous complaints to the Student Council. The anonymous complaint form of the faculty is currently being revised.
- You can also contact the study coordinator Dunja Wagner personally in confidence.
- Many lecturers also have an open ear if you want to arrange an appointment with exercise instructors or professors; as the student council, we are also available to mediate. Write to us for this purpose.
Complaints and problems around the e-room:
Send an email to the E-Room-Address. This will enable you to reach the persons responsible for the e-room.
Special Complaints
Take the opportunity to talk to your examiner in the inspection, often point deductions can be justified or points are still awarded.
If your professor was not present at the inspection, you can also arrange a separate meeting with him or her.
You have the option of requesting a copy of the exam (incl. assignment and correction) in order to check the correction. If there are any problems, please send us an email.
If many have problems with the examination modalities, then everyone should write their own complaint and submit it via the official form of the faculty, so that the dean of studies can then contact the corresponding examiner. The more substantiated and concrete the complaints are, the better the chances of success of a dialogue. Always remember that you need to make your difficulties clear to people who have not written the exam and at the same time will find the content rather easy.
- If you don't pass an exam at the last attempt, that can be very annoying. First of all, cheer up - you are not the first person to whom this has happened! On the one hand, you can look for possible alternatives and on the other hand, you still have the opportunity to formally object to the assessment.
- First of all: The legal remedy instruction entered on the ENB notice applies!
- Fundamental:
- The written objection must be sent to the chairperson of the examination board via the Central Examination Office within one month of receipt of the decision.
- It is best to personally post them in the letterbox (Emil-Figge-Str. 61, 44227 Dortmund) before the deadline.
- In the case of attempted cheating, the Corona free attempt rules do not apply, but regular examination rules.
- The AStA study councelling service can provide external advice on appeal options and procedures.
- For a new orientation, all study (subject) advisors are available. Click here for our overview (student council, faculty, university, etc.).
