Protocol Service

Especially in the master's program, the written final exams give way to oral exams. This requires different preparation: Since there are no written records from the exams, master's students in particular have to rely on memory protocols from their predecessors.

The principle of the protocol service

We manage these memorial protocols and take care of a constant expansion and updating of the inventory. We are part of the FSR and work on a voluntary basis besides our own studies; therefore, please understand if the processes may take some time.

With us you have the possibility to get examination protocols. These have been submitted or prepared by other students who have already taken the exams. To make sure that our stock is always up to date, we ask all users of the protocol rental for a protocol of their own exam and therefore charge a deposit of 10 €. More about the modalities can be found on this page.

The Rules of Procedure: Please read!

1) Borrowing of examination protocols

To borrow the examination transcripts, please bring 10 euros in cash (suitable) to the consultation. We will then send you the transcript by email shortly afterwards.

2) Return of examination protocols

A memorial protocol about the class where the protocol was borrowed for must be returned within one year. The deposit of 10 Euro can only be returned if the protocol

  • is from your personal exam,
  • is submitted within one year
  • complies with the guidelines and
  • is submitted as a PDF file.

The specification of a deadline for submission serves the timeliness of a protocol. Due to other uses in the student council, the deposit cannot be returned after more than one year.

The deposit is also issued during office hours. Please submit the protocol by e-mail (proto@fset.de) at least 24 hours in advance. The subject line should read "Return". Otherwise we may not be able to pay out the amount.

3) Guidelines for protocols

A returned protocol must contain the following:

  • Date of the exam (1st/2nd date), optionally: Date of the exam.
  • Form of examination (oral/written)
  • Examination subject and names of the examiner (if possible also those of the assessors)
  • All examination questions

Optionally, you can indicate the following in the protocol:

  • Grade
  • Short answers to the examination questions
  • A short comment on the atmosphere of the exam and a personal assessment.

The protocol must not contain the following:

  • Personal data (name / matriculation number) of the examinee.

In case of an incomplete protocol, the Protocol-Service decides on the acceptance of the protocol.

4) Purchase of protocols

If you are listening to a newly offered subject for which we do not have protocols yet, please contact us at proto@fset.de.

Borrow exam protocols

Listed here are the protocols we can currently offer you. Although we make every effort to keep our inventory listing up to date, we cannot guarantee it.

The classification into basic modules (Basismodule) and elective modules (Wahlpflichtmodule) is based on the Master of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (Master Elektro- und Informationstechnik), accordingly students of other courses have to look through both lists. Some modules with German titles are now offered in English. Consequently, the language of these protocols is not uniform, but with knowledge of the subject content it is easy to translate and in any case there should be an impression of the exam.
